No, our programs are open to all Dartmouth alumni, family, and friends. We welcome anyone who would like to travel with the Dartmouth group!
Submit a booking request form that is found on the trip webpage. Dartmouth Alumni Travel will then share your request with the tour operator, and they will contact you to confirm your booking and collect your trip deposit or payment. You may also connect with the tour operator directly. Please remember to notify them that you are traveling with Dartmouth. You will receive a booking confirmation via email from the tour operator and Dartmouth Alumni Travel.
We do our best to find a replacement and will notify you when a new faculty leader is confirmed. In rare cases of low booking numbers, a faculty member will not be able to join the group. If a faculty member cannot accompany the trip, our programs will still be accompanied by local expert guides who will provide high-quality interpretation and educational content throughout the touring experience.

Yes, we strongly recommend it. You may use any provider you like. Our preferred provider is Redpoint Travel Protection. They offer early purchase benefits such as the pre-existing medical conditions exclusion waiver or the ability to upgrade to “Cancel for Any Reason” if purchased within 15 days of deposit. Other plans are also available.
Due to our privacy policy, we aren't able to share participant information. You may receive a participant list from the tour operator, and there will be an opportunity to share your contact information at the end of the trip.
Some of our travel programs are suitable for older children who have the necessary maturity and curiosity, and we welcome inquiries about their participation. For almost all programs, children of any age must pay the price advertised for adult travelers. If you are interested in taking a child on a trip, please reach out to us before you register.
