Barbara Will

Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives and the A. & R. Newbury Professor of English

Barbara Will is the Vice Provost for Academic and International Affairs and the A. and R. Newbury Professor of English. Her many books and articles focus on twentieth-century literature, culture, and history, with a comparative emphasis on French and Anglo-American modernism, and she has earned two teaching awards from Dartmouth.  As an administrator, she has served as chair of the Presidential Steering Committee for Moving Dartmouth Forward and Associate Dean for the Faculty of the Arts and Humanities. She currently oversees strategic planning for Centers and Institutes on campus, is leading the effort behind Dartmouth’s global strategy, and serves as the liaison for arts initiatives across campus.  She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University, M.A. from Bryn Mawr College, and B.A. from Yale University.
