In Service to Dartmouth
The council strives to represent all constituencies within the alumni community. Consider how you can get involved and be a voice for fellow alumni.
Meet The President
Bruce Danziger '83 is president of the Alumni Council for 2025–2026.
Bruce was an English major at Dartmouth. He served on the DOC's Winter Sports Council, back in the days when students actually organized and ran all of the "home" intercollegiate ski races! He also was Social Chair of his fraternity, now Kappa Pi Kappa, and was involved with WDCR/WFRD in several capacities.
As President of the Alumni Council, Bruce hopes to further the recently improved communication between the College and the alumni community, and make sure that all alumni feel heard by Council leadership and the College.
Bruce lives in Sudbury, MA with his wife of 36 years, Stacey. They have two adult children, ages 30 and 25. After a short stint in finance in New York, Bruce has spent the majority of his career as an owner/operator of radio stations and antenna towers in the eastern U.S.

Mission and Responsibilities
The Alumni Council’s mission is to sustain a fully informed, representative, and engaged exchange of information and sentiment between alumni and the institution.
To achieve its mission, the Alumni Council delves into the state of the institution and its future goals, communicating that knowledge to alumni. Council members also nominate alumni candidates to serve on the Dartmouth Board of Trustees, and in all ways recognize, encourage, and facilitate alumni service.
Communicating with the Alumni Council
Your thoughts are appreciated. The Alumni Liaison Committee (ALC) reads, categorizes, and records all alumni sentiment, which is then shared with the Dartmouth Board of Trustees.
Alumni Council Awards
The Alumni Council annually presents the Dartmouth College Alumni Award and the Dartmouth College Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award to volunteers in recognition of their career achievements and selfless service.
Alumni Council members also annually select a John Rassias Award honoree. Inspired by its namesake's unmatched loyalty to alumni, the award recognizes current or retired faculty members who go above and beyond to remain connected to Dartmouth graduates.
The Alumni Council Honors Six Volunteers for Exceptional Leadership
The council honored four alums this year for their decades of service to Dartmouth.
Professors Honored for Constructive Dialogue Leadership
Professors Susannah Heschel and Tarek El-Ariss earn the Rassias Award for guiding constructive campus dialogue and advancing lifelong learning for Dartmouth alumni.
