Conference Call

John "J.B." Daukas opened the call.
1. Approval of August 20, 2013 minutes
The committee approved the minutes of the August 20, 2013 Association of Alumni Executive Committee conference call.
2. Discussion about deadline for submission of proposed constitutional amendments by petition
Lynne Gaudet provided an overview of the 2013-2014 AoA timeline pertaining to the 2013 AoA election, most of which was approved during the last meeting. The committee discussed the petition deadline for constitutional amendments and agreed to approve the deadline as it is stated in the timeline.
The timeline in its entirety was approved by the committee.
The committee then discussed the draft that J. B. Daukas shared regarding the explanation of the amendment proposal. J.B. will make a few edits in response to recommendations made by the Executive Committee and the draft will be sent again to committee members.
3. Text of Association of Alumni Constitutional Amendments
J.B. will submit the final drafts of the AoA Constitutional amendment and explanation asking committee members to review and comment. Before the next conference call, Lynne and Martha will share the text with the Governance Committee.
The Executive Committee will vote on it during the next conference call, to be scheduled in early October.
Lynne will also schedule a call for early November, following the presentation of the constitutional amendment to the Alumni Council.
4. Nominating and Ballot Committees
J.B. thanked all the committee members who volunteered to serve on the Nominating and Balloting Committees
The Balloting Committee will be chaired by J.B. (as per AoA Constitution) and will include Gersh Abraham, Belinda Chiu, and Pete Bleyler.
The Nominating Committee will be chaired by Jeff Crowe, and will include Kate Strayer-Benton, Gary Love and J.B.
The Nominating Committee will hold a conference call in a few weeks. Lynne asked committee members to send her the names of people to be considered for the 2014 nominated AoA slate, so she can prepare the material for Jeff.
The Balloting Committee will oversee the election itself, work with the vendor and work on the layout of the ballots, among other responsibilities.
Lynne will schedule conference calls for these two committees.
