Getting to and around campus isn’t complicated, but it does involve some coordination and planning on the part of the Transportation Chair. They will work closely with the Volunteer Engagement team to ensure that all Reunion supplies—and classmates—arrive at the right destinations at the right time.

The College will rent each class its own van for Reunion, and the corresponding fee is included in the final invoice from the College. This van may only be driven by student workers, and is typically used to transport Reunion supplies and beverages between venues. Please note that any student worker who is under 21 years of age may not drive a vehicle containing alcohol unless accompanied by someone who is 21 or older.

In addition to the Reunion van, there are other options for transportation, which may be necessary for transporting classmates with disabilities from location to location, transporting classmates from one end of campus to another, or bringing classmates to off-campus events:

  • School buses are typically the most economical transportation option, depending on your size group. They seat 50 people and are best for shorter trips.
  • Charter buses are much larger buses meant for a more comfortable, lengthy ride.
  • The Advance Transit bus has a Hanover route that runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For their up-to-date routes and time tables, please visit the Advance Transit website

To request transportation beyond the one class van that will automatically be reserved for you, please complete and turn in the Transportation Request Form to the College.

Parking on Campus

Each class will receive several reserved parking spaces near its class tent to use for the rented vehicles. Guests can park in either the Thompson Arena Lot or the Dewey Lot. The Thompson Arena Lot is at the south end of campus (by the hockey rink and soccer fields) and the Dewey Lot is at the north end of campus (near the Geisel School of Medicine).

Upon arrival, guests should unload their bags at the residence hall and then park in Thompson or Dewey. If they arrive on a weekday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., they can take the Advance Transit shuttle back to the residence hall from there.

Please note: the Town of Hanover parking meters do function during Reunion week so it is still possible to get a ticket if parking on streets. Additionally, "No Parking" signs are posted around campus and are expected to be adhered to for safety reasons.
