“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees.” -- Henry David Thoreau
From September 20–21, Dartmouth alumni volunteers from classes, clubs, groups, and Women of Dartmouth gathered on campus for the inaugural VOX Conference, an inspiring weekend of connection and inspiration. Attendees collaborated across class, club, and group organizations, drilled down on strategy, and celebrated Dartmouth's tradition of service and volunteerism.

2019 Program Highlights
Attendees heard from renowned Professor Sydney Finkelstein about the different pathways to becoming a highly effective leader, got the playbook on how to bring out the best in volunteers, and learned from the exceptional talent developers Professor Finkelstein has researched to find what might be more widely emulated in their organizations.
Leading an organization takes creative thinking, thoughtfulness and finesse. Attendees developed leadership qualities through sessions on authenticity and design thinking, and found ways to enhance what they do for their classes, clubs, and groups with peer-led sessions on communicating intentionally and creating an inclusive volunteer experience.
Events and Activities
Attendees took advantage of their trip back to campus to connect with members of their organization and others, and to hear of the important issues facing Dartmouth today and where Dartmouth is going in the future.
