Ghana: History & Heritage

Shontay Delalue is the inaugural Senior Vice President and Senior Diversity Officer at Dartmouth College. In her role, she executes and evaluates Dartmouth’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and oversees compliance programming regarding equal opportunity. She additionally holds an Adjunct Assistant Professorship in African and African American Studies at the College. At her previous institution, she taught a course that took students to Ghana. 

Prior to joining Dartmouth, Dr. Delalue served as Vice President for Institutional Equity and Diversity at Brown University, where she was also appointed interim Senior Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Division of Biology and Medicine. With experience in admissions, counseling, and international and multicultural affairs, she has worked at the University of Maine, the University of Alaska Southeast, the Met High School and Bryant University both in RI. She holds a Ph.D. through the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College’s joint education program, a certificate from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education’s Institute for Management and Leadership in Education, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maine.
