Cally Bybee ’92
Group Creative Director at BrightHouse, A BCG Company
I am a brand storyteller, strategist and thinker. I cut my teeth in the advertising industry on the IBM worldwide account at Ogilvy in NY and then moved on to The Richards Group in Dallas where I worked on a variety of national accounts such as Motel 6, Travelocity, Home Depot, Invesco, and Woodbridge Wine to name a few. I moved to Atlanta as the Creative Director at Cole Henderson Drake where I worked on Halekulani, World Golf Village and Mauna Lani Resort and then went into business for myself. After many years working as a copywriter and creative director for a variety of local and national clients from UPS and Kimberly Clark to Simmons Mattresses and Edward Andrews Homes, I jumped ship from the ad world and joined BCG BrightHouse to stop selling and start making a difference. At BrightHouse, I help companies across the globe excavate, articulate, and activate their timeless Purpose. My most recent work included Purpose for a global technology company, social impact platform development, and vision and branding for a non-profit youth organization. www.callybybee.com

Human-Centered Computing PhD at Georgia Tech
I’m a Dartmouth ’21 alumna and current PhD student at Georgia Institute of Technology where I conduct research at the intersection of technology, health equity, and community empowerment. At Dartmouth, I earned my B.A. in Cognitive Science and Quantitative Social Sciences, laying the foundation for my interdisciplinary approach to solving complex social challenges. Before my PhD journey, I honed my research skills as an intern at Spotify, where I conducted user studies to generate actionable insights that shaped future product development.
Now, as a PhD student at Georgia Tech, I am committed to designing and implementing community-centered interventions that promote wellbeing and health equity in Atlanta and Boston. My research explores how faith-based approaches can be integrated into digital health interventions to improve health outcomes and education, as well as how mental health prediction tools can be tailored to serve diverse populations. I also investigate how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, can be harnessed to strengthen collective action and mutual aid efforts. During my time at Georgia Tech, I have also worked as research intern at Apple, where I contributed to the Apple Health team’s efforts to develop features aimed at supporting mental health. Through my work, I hope to contribute to a future where technology serves as a tool for collective empowerment and equitable access to resources.
