100 Days Speaker Series: Are Tariffs Good for America?

Dominic Pino and Stephen Vaughn

Join us for a conversation on tariffs with Stephen Vaughn, Partner at King & Spaulding and former General Counsel for the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and Dominic Pino, Thomas L. Rhodes Fellow at the National Review Instititute. The discussion will examine the current U.S. trade policy, benefits and drawbacks of tariffs, and the Trump administration's short and long term tariff strategies. This conversation will be moderated by Professor Doug Irwin, Co-Director of Political Economy Project and John French Professor in Economics, and Kavya Nivarthy '25.

The 100-Days Speaker Series builds on Dartmouth’s commitment to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to our institution, as we discuss focal policy areas impacted by the presidential transition. This program in the series is being cosponsored by the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences, Dartmouth Dialogues, the Political Economy Project, the Center for Business, Government and Society at Tuck, in collaboration with the Dartmouth Democrats, Dartmouth Conservatives, and the Dartmouth Political Union.

Registration is highly encouraged and is available at http://dartgo.org/100DaysTariffs. The program will be viewable online at http://dartgo.org/100DaysTariffsLive.
