Oct 20, 2024
One Day College is a full day of immersive, virtual programming to enrich your mind and analyze current events. Learn from Dartmouth professors at the top of their fields about topics critical to the election cycle, from foreign policy to artificial intelligence.
Session Description
From war in the Middle East and Ukraine, to an intensifying security competition with China, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump offer contrasting views about how the United States should handle today’s complex national security challenges. The goal of the class is to unpack the Harris and Trump national security strategies, tease out the logic of each approach, and see how the candidates’ policies would apply across a range of regions and issues. Lind and Press will lead a discussion that examine the logic, costs, risks, and benefits of each strategy, drawing on history as well as concepts from international relations scholarship.
