Schedule of Events

• Root for the Big Green
  A list of times and locations of all athletic events offered on Friday will be included so families can cheer on the Big Green. 
• Brunch/Lunch On Your Own
  Enjoy a meal in the Upper Valley, or families are welcome to enjoy breakfast and lunch on campus at the Class of 1953 Commons with discounted prices.

11:30 a.m.–7 p.m.

• Check-in and Welcome Center
  Check in and pick up your nametag, welcome bag, and materials for the weekend. During the Welcome Center hours, drop off food and personal care items for Upper Valley families in need. 

1–2:45 p.m.

• Campus and Special Tours
  Sign-up for Friday’s tours is at check-in, beginning Friday at 11:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

1–3:30 p.m.

• Book Arts Workshop Open House
  Stop by to explore the Book Arts Workshop in the lower level of Baker-Berry Library. Learn about methods of making books and other printed materials and try your hand at running a letterpress by printing a pre-designed souvenir to take home with you!

 1:30–3 p.m.

• Open House “Expo” with Campus Partners
  Learn more about many of the exciting opportunities and resources available for students. 

3:30–4:15 p.m.

• Concurrent Sessions: Choose One 
  There will be informational sessions offered at this time, including a special lecture from a Dartmouth faculty member. Families will choose the session of interest to them. 

4:30–6 p.m. 

• Family Welcome Reception 
  Enjoy light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages, hear brief welcoming remarks by Dean of the College Scott Brown, and get to know fellow families.

• Dinner and Evening on Your Own with Family and Friends
  Check the Family Weekend website—dartgo.org/family-weekend-2024—for area dining options, including the main on-campus dining location at the Class of 1953 Commons (aka FOCO.)

• Breakfast
  Enjoy complimentary breakfast at the Class of 1953 Commons (aka FOCO.) Students will use a meal swipe on their dining card. 

10:15–11 a.m.

• Family Weekend Cookout
  All are welcome to gather and enjoy a complimentary New England barbeque while relaxing and connecting with one another. 

1–4 p.m. 

• Hood Museum of Art Community Day
  This free, drop-in program for all ages takes inspiration from two current exhibitions—From the Field: Tracing Foodways through Art; and Immersive Worlds: Real & Imagined. There will be in-gallery activities and art-making in the atrium, including yarn art with hoop weaving, paper collage quilt making, and more! There will be a short film screening as well. Local community arts organization rePlay Arts will also be there. Enter a free raffle to win surprise goodies and enjoy some snacks and juices. 

1–1:45 p.m.

• Social Time
  Enjoy conversation with fellow families, along with lawn games, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

6–10 p.m. 

• Dinner On Your Own
  Enjoy a meal in the Upper Valley. The main on-campus dining location at the Class of 1953 Commons (aka FOCO) is open to all at discounted prices and is a great option for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions. 

6:30–9:30 p.m. 

• Student Showcases
  Come and enjoy many of Dartmouth’s a cappella and dance groups as they perform for you. There will be two showcases to accommodate all who would like to attend.

• Information Session 

10 am–12 p.m. 

• House Community Family Brunches
  Enjoy brunch in your student’s house community and meet your student’s house professor and other members of their team. Stop by anytime between 10 a.m.–12 p.m. 

12:30–3 p.m. 

• Social Time
  There will be a variety of activities offered for families to connect and have fun together.
