- Everett Blake died this week, six days short of his 95th birthday. Everett was passionate about square dancing and calling and shared his enthusiasm with Dartmouth students, calling dances for the DOC trips, fraternities, school events, and private parties. He was twice made a lifetime member of the DOC and received the title of "Square Dance Caller Extraordinaire." He introduced the Dartmouth community to the "Salty Dog Rag" and formed many friendships with students (and later called dances for their weddings). Thanks, Everett! 1327070230
- And now we pause for a little history. The illustrious alumnus Daniel Webster, Class of 1801, was born on this day in 1782. Stop by the Rauner Special Collections Library the next time you're in Hanover and ask to see his top hat and socks! 1326914747
