Mary Lou Aleskie and John Stomberg
The Hopkins Center, Hood Museum of Art, and Black Family Visual Arts Center form the core of a strong and growing arts district focused on creativity at Dartmouth. The talk will focus on the ways the spaces are utilized to convene arts faculty, students, and visiting artists for greater and deeper collaborations. Mary Lou Aleskie, Director of the Hopkins Center for the Arts and John Stomberg, the Virginia Rice Kelsey 1961s Director of the Hood Museum, will provide an overview of the exciting expansions and innovations taking place at both the Hopkins Center and the Hood Museum. Enrico Riley ’95, professor of studio art, Ashely Fure, associate professor of music, and Jami Powell, associate curator of Native American Art at the Hood Museum, will join in a conversation with John and Mary Lou to discuss the ways the arts collaborate on campus in each of their respective disciplines.

Baker Bell Tower Open House (D)
Self-guided visit. 150 free tickets will be distributed beginning at 1 p.m., in numbered groups of 10. Groups will take the tour in order of their group number from 1-3 p.m. Each tour will take approximately 10 minutes to ascend, take in the beautiful views, and descend. Each person must be able to navigate many steep steps and a ladder on his/her own.

These sessions are designed to familiarize parents and their college-bound children in grades 9–11 with the national college admission and financial aid processes. Ideally, students should start planning for college early in their high school career, ensuring a comprehensive plan for their high school courses, extracurricular activities, and how to approach the college search process.

Join Gabrielle Santa-Donato from the Stanford Life Design Lab to generate ideas and get creative about your future. In this workshop, we will each craft three different five-year journeys from now onwards that you can use to navigate your way forward.
