Association of Alumni
Executive Committee
Conference Call
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
Noon - 1 PM ET

Participants: John (JB) Daukas (President), Gersh Abraham, Mark Alperin, Pete Bleyler, Belinda Chiu, Jeff Crowe, Ann Fritz Hackett, Gary Love, Kate Strayer-Benton, Kiyoe Hashimoto, Martha Beattie, Lynne Gaudet

Lynne Gaudet opened the call. The minutes of the February 7, 2012 AOA Executive Committee conference call were approved.

Lynne Gaudet gave an update on the 2012 AOA and trustee elections. Lynne reported that, as of today, March 27th, the voter participation rate is 6%. Ann Fritz Hackett and Lynne Gaudet will attend the paper ballot count in Maryland on April 12th.

Ben Wilson attended the Washington, DC and the Atlanta Presidential Club Events. Nate Fick was planning on attending the Washington, DC event as well, but could not attend due to the birth of his child. Rick Kimball attended the San Francisco Presidential Club Event.

Discussion around voter participation continued. It was agreed that JB Daukas would send an email communication to all volunteer leaders to ask them to encourage their constituencies to vote in the elections.

Some alumni have sent emails to Alumni Relations inquiring why there is an election when the candidates are running unopposed. Any email that required a response was shared with the appropriate volunteer leader (AOA president or Alumni Council president) so that they could respond. The constitution, as it states right now, requires an election even when the candidates run uncontested.

A discussion pertaining to the nomination of President Kim to the World Bank followed.

Lynne reminded the committee of the AOA Annual Meeting to be held on Saturday, April 14th at 11 am, Silsby Hall, Dartmouth College. Lynne confirmed that several AOA Executive Committee members will be in attendance.

The conference call was adjourned.
