Meet Your Faculty Expert
Ross Virginia
Ross Virginia is the Myers Family Professor of Environmental Science and Distinguished Stefansson-Nef Faculty Fellow at the Institute of Arctic Studies at the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College where he served for 18 years as director. His current research examines the impacts of climate change on the polar deserts of Antarctica and in the Arctic tundra of western Greenland. Ross is active in polar science and policy issues as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Polar Research Board and as a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center’s Polar Institute. He is an elected fellow of the Explorers Club and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a frequent Alumni Travel faculty host.
