This time I'm happy to recommend books written by women, in particular those who give us interesting portraits of being Italian and female: New Italian Women: A Collection of Short Stories is a very good introduction to representations of Italy seen through the eyes of women writers in the 20th century, including Grazia Deledda, who received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1926.
