Guidelines for the Conduct of Alumni Council Meetings
from the Council Executive Committee

In order to conduct informative and constructive meetings of the Alumni Council, the Executive Committee asks that all in attendance observe the following general guidelines:

1. As the Alumni Council is a representative body in which council members represent and speak for their constituents, the ability to ask questions and make comments shall be limited to council members and, time permitting, to former council members.

2. Alumni wishing to raise questions or make comments should do so through one of their representatives/council members. (A list of councilors and their constituencies is available in the Alumni Council Directory.) Alumni may wish to contact one of their representatives prior to the meeting.

3. A portion of the plenary session on Saturday will be set aside for open discussion during which alumni who are not councilors are welcome to speak. Questions or comments should be limited to three minutes and pertain to the business of the council.

4. No video or audio taping is permitted.

5. The chair shall be responsible for facilitating discussion during the meeting, and may rule out of order any speaker whose questions/comments are dilatory, disruptive, or not pertinent.
