Leslie Butler

Celebrate the arrival of Hamilton, one of Broadway’s most successful musicals, in London with an exclusive event for Dartmouth alumni, family, and friends. At this special event, Leslie Butler, associate professor of history, will offer thought-provoking insights on America’s love/hate relationship with this “young, scrappy, and hungry” founder and on historians’ ambivalent embrace of this musical phenomenon.

After the discussion, two lucky guests will each win a pair of tickets to a 7:30 p.m. performance of Hamilton on Monday, January 8 at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, the musical tells the story of Hamilton and the founding fathers through hip-hop and R&B.
