Tips for Using Your Alumni Email Account

Nickname Settings

If you're known by specific, unique nicknames other than your name as it's listed in the Dartmouth Alumni Directory, setting these nicknames up in your VON alumni email account can make it easier for others to find you. Nicknames can also include alternate spellings, so that, for example, "Stephen" can be looked up as "Steve."  You may list up to five nicknames, separated with spaces, for example:

Name: John Doe '86 – john.a.doe.86@alum.dartmouth.org
Nicknames: Johnster  JDoe

In this case, any email addressed to johnster@alum.dartmouth.org would go to john.a.doe.86@alum.dartmouth.org.  Again, the nicknames you list in your VON email nickname setting must be unique to you. You may not receive some messages if someone else has the same nickname settings as you.

Preferred Email Address

Two kinds of email services are available from the Vox Online Network. You're welcome to either use your alumni email account directly in WebBlitz or forward your email to another account.

URL (Home Page Address)

If you have a home page, you can set the "URL" field of your directory entry to list the addresses of your web page.
