In Pursuit of Excellence

Dartmouth College Recognizes with Deep Appreciation the Extraordinary Achievements of

Jo Weingarten Golub ’98
2018 Class President of the Year – 25 Years Out and Younger

For the great Class of 1998, Jo Golub has been indispensable. Jo’s visionary leadership and team-oriented attitude energized and inspired her class in this exciting Reunion year. The Class of 1998’s engagement was displayed at every level, from the class officers and leadership to volunteers who worked on planning events, fundraised for the Dartmouth College Fund, hosted mini-Reunions to build excitement, or served as ambassadors to invite fellow ’98s – and of course, among all the classmates who came to Hanover in June.

Jo helped develop a multi-pronged, coordinated, team-based outreach and recruitment effort for Reunion, which paid off with the most ever attendees for a 20th Reunion. The Class of 1998 also exceeded both its fundraising and participation goals for the Dartmouth College Fund, achieving class all-time highs of $1.1 million raised and 42 percent participation.

Jo coordinated the strategic use of newsletters, social media, and class-wide emails to communicate information and generate excitement. Many class emails from Jo showcased the great work the class was doing, ranging from Reunion mini-reunions, to its class project with Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth (SEAD) and the 98th Day of Service.

During her tenure and over the past year, Jo continued to strengthen the Class of 1998’s commitment to service by helping to launch a new program, the Granite Coalition, that allows classmates to give back to each other and help each other through challenging times in life.

Jo, it is with the greatest pride that the Class President’s Association honors you as the 2018 Class President of the Year.
