Alumni Research Panel - Moosilauke Forum

What is the Moosilauke Forum?
The Moosilauke Forum is an alumni research panel comprised of randomly selected Dartmouth undergraduate alumni who share their thoughts on a wide range of Dartmouth topics and initiatives. Alumni represent an array of classes and geographic regions. The group currently includes more than 1,300 undergraduate alumni, and Forum membership turns over every two years. Forum members agree to participate in online surveys several times per year.

Why should I join the Moosilauke Forum?
We established the Forum to make Dartmouth stronger. As a member, your input will be instrumental in helping us understand alumni opinions on a variety of Dartmouth-related topics. This is your opportunity to make a difference and to help shape the College for future alumni.

How do I become a member?
Approximately every two years, Dartmouth invites a random selection of alumni to join the Forum by completing a brief survey. Alumni who complete the survey become members of the Forum.

Why does Dartmouth want me?
We value your opinions. Our alumni represent Dartmouth to the world, and we want to know your thoughts and impressions about Dartmouth. In addition, we are always trying to improve our alumni programming, our communications, and other alumni resources and services.

What will be expected of me?
We will invite you, as a Forum member, to take a survey several times per year over the next two years. We know you are busy and we understand that sometimes you will not have time to take a survey. So we design most of our surveys to take 10-20 minutes to complete—and some might take less than 10 minutes.

How do I complete a survey?
We will email you an invitation to participate in a survey. The email invitation will have a link directing you to the survey. You can either complete the survey immediately or take it at a later time. The closing date for each survey will be included in the email notification you receive. If you need to stop in the middle of a survey, your data will not be lost. You can return to it later using the same link. The link will take you to where you stopped. You can take the surveys on a computer, a tablet, or a smart phone.

How long will I remain on the Forum?
Once you join, we ask that you stay on the Forum for at least one year, but we hope you will participate for up to two years. After that point, we will invite a new set of alumni to participate.

Will survey results be shared?
We periodically will send updates to Forum members, detailing the results and impact of their survey responses.

How will my privacy be protected?
Dartmouth uses your survey responses strictly for research purposes. Your responses are always kept confidential and are used only in aggregate with those of other participants. Your name is never given to anyone outside of our organization, and you will never receive any follow-up contact or solicitation as a result of participating in surveys.

How do I report a technical problem?
Please include a description of the problem you encounter or a copy of any error message you may receive. You can email us at Moosilauke.Forum@dartmouth.edu
